TV Special to Feature Tenerife Crash

WorldScreen.com reports that Cineflix International are co-producing a 90-minute special, with M6, Crash of the Century, which investigates the 1977 collision of a KLM flight with a Pan Am plane at Los Rodeos Airport, Tenerife. The special has been presold to Sky One, amongst other international TV stations.

More Solar Power in Tenerife

RenewableEnergyAccess.com report that SolarWorld of Germany has made deals in China and Spain for module production and sales.

For the Instituto Tecnologico y de Energias Renovables (ITER) on the island of Tenerife, SolarWorld AG will supply modules with a total power output of initially 2.1 MW in the current year. The technology institute is planning the installation of 150 solar power plants with a total of 15 MW on the island of Tenerife.

Things we learn from disaster

When you count the human cost, it is extremely difficult to see the "silver lining" in the cloud of an horrific disaster, however, Tenerife's tragic air disaster is offering help in identifying tsunami victims as a Radio Netherlands story explains:

"The method used to identify the victims was developed after the 1977 collision between a KLM and Pan Am Boeing on Tenerife in the Canary Islands, which claimed hundreds of lives," explains Mr Wiersinga.

Already, standard English "air speak" became mandated as a result of that collision.
