Strange things in Google maps
The province of Tenerife is on orange alert for high winds today and we're being buffeted and blown, while lashing rain is driven through any gap it can find. Not the Tenerife weather you were hoping to hear about? Us neither and the sky was blue earlier. So, we found a wonderful way to waste a wet Saturday afternoon: at this site, MapOfStrange.com which has plotted various strange things you can see in Google maps. Well, not all of them are that strange, but many of them are things you would not know were there, unless you were looking from above.
And you do wonder who / what they were put there for.
Tenerife - of course - has its own version of strange: the Alcampo logo painted on the roof of their store in La Laguna. If you look in the top-right corner of the building, you can also see the C&A logo painted on the roof of the C&A store.
Why, don't ask us! Perhaps it was done to advertise to passengers on planes landing at the nearby Tenerife North (Los Rodeos) airport. Maybe it was to deter pilots from thinking that those are airport buildings or aircraft hangers? :)

The weather alert is because winds of 100-110 kmph are expected on the peaks of Tenerife and La Palma. It has been effective from 06:00 Saturday morning and, initially, is expected to be in force until the same time on Sunday.
