At ease, Tenerife weather alert over

Friday's orange alert was dropped to level yellow, before being declared a done deal at midnight last night.

We did have one quite heavy shower after that, during the night here in the north west of Tenerife, but certainly none of the heavy rains and flooding that were forecast or feared.

The forecasters got it badly wrong, didn't they?

Whist it may be better to be "safe than sorry", this could so easily turn into a case of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. After several alerts that amounted to nothing, we were caught out when the serious storm hit us in 2005.
