Canary Islands disappearing

Better visit La Gomera in the next million years, or you might be out of luck.

A scientist from a university in South Africa is studying the "disappearing" islands phenomena off the north-west coast of Africa. "The island over which greatest concern is raised is La Gomera, the [second] smallest of the Canary Islands which has not had a volcanic eruption in the last four million years. If the island does not get an eruption in the next one million years, it will erode, Goodman-Cron confirms. "
