Miss Tenerife Runner up to Miss Spain

As El Guiri pointed out earlier in the week, "It was a bit of a shock to see Miss España on digital terrestrial television here last night. I'm pretty sure that sort of thing is buried deep on some satellite channel in the UK ..." Likewise, I ran into the spectacle on Telecinco, one of the "normal" TV channels.

It's all very odd really, because, yeah, sure Tenerife is proud to have come as high as second, but (though unconfirmed), it is possible that "our girl" and not the winner, will go on to represent Spain in Miss World. It's also interesting to note that, although Adriana Reverón Moreno was entered in Miss Spain as Miss Tenerife, she was, in fact only the 1st Runner-up in that event, held in Icod de los Vinos last September.

No doubt, someone will explain to me how this all works, one day.

But who says there are no prizes for coming second, eh?
