Pedestrianizing Icod de los Vinos
The Tenerife Island Corporation has awarded the contract for improvements to the Calle San Agustín - Icod's main shopping street. The 614,452 euros, financed jointly by the Corporation and the Government, completes works already carried out in the streets of San Sebastián (pictured in the original article) and Los Franceses. The second phase of the works in the Calle San Agustín, costing 1,023,693 will go out to tender next year.
Works, which will take 10 months to complete, include pedestrianizing an area of 2,200 square meters, widening pavements, providing new urban furniture (park benches, flower pots, etc.) and the creation of loading and unloading bays along with planting of trees. Facades of emblematic buildings are to get special illumination.
