Six British Holiday Makers Detained in Tenerife
National police in the south of Tenerife detained six British citizens in the early hours of Tuesday morning on suspicion that they failed to give assistance to a dying man and, for their alleged participation in a robbery.
Residents had called the police initially to complain about a racket coming from one of the apartments. The six were arrested in Los Cristianos, after the body of a further British man was found in the passage outside the apartment in which they were staying. All seven were on holiday on the island.
An autopsy is being carried out, but the initial hypothesis to explain the death revolves around an apparent intoxication of synthetic drugs. Police reportedly found narcotics in the apartment used by the detained, along with items supposedly stolen from a neighbouring apartment, which implicates them in a possible robbery. What is not yet known is whether the victim was still alive when he disappeared, or whether the body was dragged out into the passage.
