Mirador thieves bump up local crime stats
Recently released crime statistics have shown the Teide National Park as a prime crime hot spot. The majority of crime in the park can be classed as petty thefts of cameras, mobile phones and the like. A spokesman for the Guardia Civil said tourists tend to be easy prey for thieves as they are too busy looking at the scenery to notice they are being watched.
