Consensus grows on climate change
Recent changes in the climate in the Canary Islands and the occurrence of freak weather, such as Tropical Storm Delta back in November and indeed anything bad enough to have caused yesterday's Santa Cruz Carnaval to be suspended, are widely acknowledged to be as a result of the warming of the Gulf Stream. It has always seemed patently obvious to me that man's actions were the most likely cause of that warming.
Finally, the boffins are spelling it out in those terms. "The global scientific body on climate change will report soon that only greenhouse gas emissions can explain freak weather patterns."
