Almond Flower Route
Here's something a little more cheery than today's news or images of the Carnaval parade that got washed out. (Yes, I am still shocked that the weather could be this bad and this time.)
The photo (above), which was sent to the folks at the Albergue de Bolico - the hostel at the head of the El Palmar valley here in the Teno Rural Park - was taken on this year's Ruta del Almendro en Flor, literally Almond Flower Route, which is an organized hike that takes place every year around the area of Santiago del Teide when the almonds are in blossom.
When I went over to the south in January, the blossoms were coming out already and the area was already a picture dotted with fluffy pink trees almost everywhere you looked.
