Monarch Scheduled sees bookings surge with bad weather
As torrential rain and tornadoes lashed down on the UK last week, thousands of Brits gave up hope of a decent British summer and headed for the web to book their August getaway to the sunshine. Low cost airline, Monarch Scheduled saw bookings leap by 88% year-on-year as customers rushed to grab the last remaining seats on flights to a variety of European hotspots. Making just under 50,000 bookings, the most popular routes reflected the British desire for a sunny escape - Malaga, Alicante and Tenerife.
