Holidaymakers switch to 'safer' places

The number of British tourists visiting Egypt is expected to fall rapidly after last Saturday's terrorist attacks in Sharm el-Sheikh, with holidaymakers switching to destinations that are considered safer.

Instead, people are choosing to go to Cyprus, the Canary Islands, Italy and Switzerland. Thomas Cook has adapted its summer programme, securing extra hotel rooms in Cyprus, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
