Tenerife, Favourite Destiny
Tourist numbers are down, although Tenerife was the least affected, with a decrease of 3.1 percent in the year-to-date. Between January and July, 1,996,824 people visited the island - 63,935 less than in the same period of the previous year.
In July, the Canaries received a total of 738,643 foreign tourists, seven percent less than in the same month last year. In the last seven months, the archipelago has received a total of 5,389,995 visitors, a 5.83 percent decrease on the same period in 2003.
The United Kingdom monopolized the market with 46.45% of the total of tourists.
