Canary Islands Register Highest Growth in New Companies
The Canary Islands registered the greatest rise in the creation of new companies - a 22.8 percent increase in formations - in the five years between 1998 and 2003, according to a study by the Chamber of Commerce. The national average in the period was 13.6 percent, nine points below the rate of growth registered in the islands.
