Watching Venus from Tenerife
Timothy Brown, a scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, will be watching the Venusian atmosphere through a specialized solar telescope, located on Tenerife, during a rare transit of Venus on Tuesday, June 8. The last time it happened was in 1882, obviously before the technology was available to make such studies.
Astrologically speaking too, this rarity has some amazing implications (June 8, 2004: The Transit of Venus) "Venus is a lover, not a fighter, so this transit could also be promising in terms of a worldwide peace movement."
